Dovrefjell National Park
August 2008, with Ingeborg (35 km in 2 days. 1 )
Only a single night, but it was Ingeborg's first overnight hike ever. And I experienced the wonder of it through her eyes. "what do you mean, camp here? like... right here? in the middle of nowhere?". There where 'firsts' for me also. Like forgetting the coffee, whisky and peanuts, which lead to bartering with strangers the next morning. They had a leaky sleeping-mat, but no repair kit. I had a kit, and they had coffee. But the most amazing experience where the huge musk oxen. We knew they were there... somewhere... but they passed our camp and just stared. Very impressive beasts. A very short hike, but Ingeborg was sold, this would be our future.

Dovrefjell CampsiteWild camping in the park was pretty exposed. Not only because of the lack of trees or other shelter, but this is the national park where the huge wild Musk Oxen roam.
