Hiking - 2006

France, Stevensons Trail (10 days) - Sep/Oct 2006

Louis Stevenson made a trek though the Gevaudan and Cevennes with a donkey in 1878. We followed in his footsteps 128 years and 1 day later. It took us 10 days to walk the 202 km's from Le Puy-en-Velay to Saint Jean-du-Gard. We planned to stay on campgrounds, but in the end we only found one that was open. The rest was improvisation. My mum and dad awaited us at the end of the trip with a campervan full of goodies.

USA, Olympic NP (4 days) & Canada, Banff NP (2 days) - June 2006

This was supposed to be a 4 week trip through the southwest of Canada. But because one of the BC Ferries sunk we had to change our plans. We made a loop from Vancouver through Washington (USA) and the Canadian Rockies. We made 2 treks, a 4 day trek into Olympic Rainforest and a short overnight hike in Banff NP in the Rockies.

The Netherlands, Streekpad Nijmegen (4 days) - April 2006

Welcoming spring near home. Budding trees and singing birds.

Sweden, Fulufjallet NP (2 days) - March 2006

We made a organised group trip to sweden to get a taste of some new experiences. Snow shoe hiking, dog sledding, chasing reindeer on show scooters and ice fishing. These pics are of an overnight snow shoe trip that was way to short.
