September 2005, with Petra (74 km in 4 days. 3 )
Spectacular. Not so much the scenery, but the rest of it. It was cold, litterly freezing, dropping to about -7 at night. Probably unwise, but we took a bath in some hotsprings right between the frost and the boiling water. Also unwise, we had to do 2 river crossings that were a little bit too much for us. And spectacularly scary was the nighly visit by a black bear in one of our camps. It was so remote that we didn't see anybody for 50 hours, and then just a single guy who was scared shitless because he had spent the night chasing off a pack of wolves that kept circling his tent. Yellowstone backcountry, wow... quite an experience.
